Leon G. Abele 58 cashier at Lawrence National Bank died Saturday afternoon at 4 in Lawrence Memorial Hospital from complications after a major operation the previous week. Born near Holton he lived there until moving to Lawrence 17 years ago. He worked at the bank for 10 years and was a member of First Methodist Church Sertoma Club and Scottish Rite. Surviving are his wife Helen, a daughter Mrs C J Stephens of Bloomsburg Pa a son Maurice Abele of Brookhaven Miss a sister Miss Rose Abele of Topeka and a brother Charles G Abele of Horton. Funeral Tuesday at 2:30 pm at First Methodist Church with Rev Dr Albert F Brassble and former pastor Rev Dr E Allison officiating. Interment Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may call Funk's Mortuary until 1 pm Tuesday. The family requests no flowers.
