A. R. and affiliated bodies held a session in Indianapolis to resolve longstanding veteran disputes. Leaders from veterans groups discussed policy, commemorations, and forthcoming actions amid tense organizational rivalries.
Indianapolis September 21 The Grand Army of the Republic opened its 1921 encampment with eighty regimental and brigade reunions planned and a camp fire tonight. The national council of administration planned to meet and business sessions begin Thursday. affiliated groups including Naval Veterans Sons Ladies G A R and Daughters of Veterans also met. Mayor Jewett Governor Goodrich and commander McBride welcomed attendees. Commander Hall noted dwindling membership prompts a per capita tax increase from 3.50 to 10.00 after thirty years.
Kansas officials and delegates headed to Columbus Ohio for the American Prison Association gathering October 14 to 19. Gov H Allen announced the full slate of delegates many from correction institutions including Dr Wilbur N Mason president of the state board of administration Judge C W Smith and A S Bigelow among others. An extraordinary lodge meeting in Lawrence will feature Dr E T W Lindley chancellor of the University of Kansas as guest.
Gov. Allen filed plans for a Western campaign tour with four to five addresses daily across states Indiana Ohio New Jersey and Connecticut ratified the nineteenth amendment following Gov Holcomb's message to a special session with Senate 29 to 0 and a near unanimous House vote.
New York, Sept. 21 The custom house remained intact at 2 o'clock as officials anticipated a possible bombing today. Minutes passed with no sign of a bomb or terrorist while Bowling Green swelled with a curious crowd. The building stood under its heaviest guard in history after yesterday’s warning.

Lt Pettijohn secretary of state estimates several thousand Kansans in federal service and officials are curious how many will vote.
The University Athletic Association began selling student enterprise tickets for 37 events on the school calendar. Tickets are available at the gymnasium, registrar, and Round Corner Drug Store and include admission to band concerts, glee club, orchestra, debates, and other university events. Football season tickets will also be offered at $4.50. Single admissions would cost them nearly $1.50 during the season.
Colby, secretary, rejects demand from anti suffragists in Tennessee to rescind his proclamation of ratification after Tennessee legislature's favorable action. The note is dated September 21 and centers on federal suffrage amendment status and official acknowledgment.

London reports Lord Mayor Maesyney MacSwiney in Brixton prison on the fortieth day of his hunger strike. A bulletin from the Trish Self-Determination sleegus notes he had some sleep but remained very weak, and questions about ferries and access to relatives are mentioned as doctors monitor his condition.
A poorly attended performance by an excellent band drew praise for balance and conduct, with soloists Grayden Hower and Walter Kelley lauded. The event, including a subsequent dance, raised enough funds to cover the visit costs, as local patrons supported the Union fraternities. Senator Hiram W. Johnson endorsed Warren G.
