Militants take Azaz as jihadis push in Syria near Turkey

Islamic State and al Qaeda linked fighters overran Azaz near the Turkish border as Western backed rebels were expelled. The capture deepens infighting among opposition forces, threatens to fracture their resistance, and prompts Turkey to close Bab al Salameh crossing amid swelling jihadi influence. The advance comes as U S strikes were shelved in favor of diplomacy, leaving moderates increasingly desperate.
