Douglas County hires new maintenance supervisor

The Douglas County Commission announced the hiring of Fremont W. Hornberger as maintenance supervisor for county government property and grounds. Hornberger, 57, will start Oct. 1 at a salary of $1000 a month, replacing Alfred Skeet who was fired July 7. The commission also plans to hire a separate caretaker for the 4-H Fair grounds.
