Cessna Machinists Fail to Authorize Strike in Wichita
In Wichita the union representing about 2,500 Cessna Aircraft machinists failed to secure a strike authorization as 58 percent rejected and 49 percent voted to strike. A simple majority was needed to approve the contract and a two-thirds majority for a strike. The deal, with no wage rise in years one to four and modest raises later, will be accepted by default.
