A semi trailer carrying hogs spilled onto Highway 59 a mile south of Lawrence early Tuesday. The hogs were moved to Sapulpa Oklahoma by Palmer Trucking Service of Independence Kansas. no hogs were harmed. Driver Cecil B Strickland 26 of Fort Smith Arkansas said steering gear froze. Truck damage estimated at 1600 dollars. Another truck was brought to haul away the hogs.

Six Hurt After Greyhound Hits Tractor-Trailer Near O Fallon
Cordelia Hundley of Route 3 Tonganoxie was among six hospitalized after a Greyhound bus clipped the rear of a tractor trailer near O Fallon Missouri this morning. All 33 passengers were injured with six remaining in hospital. The bus driver and truck driver were unharmed. State Trooper Paul Naumann said the bus tried to pass the truck and struck its left rear. Neither vehicle overturned.
