Car overturns near Williamstown injures man
A. Steinbreiner of St. Joseph sustained neck and back injuries when his car left the road and overturned two miles north of Williamstown on Saturday afternoon. Man Supposedly Buried Reappears at Home
Wiley Fry, a young farmer from twenty five miles east of Thayer Missouri, reappeared at his home Friday night after his body had been buried September 8. He had left for Oklahoma a month earlier. his family heard nothing. An unidentified body lay in Tulsa morgue after a Tulsa bandit shootout. Fry’s siblings positively identified the corpse as Fry, and it was buried in the Fry family plot last Thursday. His wife and five children mourned him as dead before his return.

High water delays Lawrence water works intake at Topeka Bridge
Severe flood conditions this summer hamper the Topeka Bridge company's intake project for the Lawrence water works. Damaged in April and again in August, steel sheet pilings, a derrick, pile driver, boiler, and engine were swept away into the river. Superintendent Charles Slusher plans to lift submerged machinery onto a barge and resume construction, driving pilings deeper to anchor a concrete base for the intake.

Youth Killed in Highway Accident Near Tonganoxie
Leon Gail Nichols eighteen of Columbia Missouri died late yesterday at Lawrence Memorial hospital from injuries in a highway crash seven miles east of Tonganoxie on highway 40. Nichols was riding with two companions when a Ford roadster driven by Nelson Wilson of Ottawa collided with the Rumsey ambulance en route to the scene. Wilson was released by authorities and no charges will be filed unless pursued by Nichols’ parents. The crash damaged the ambulance and a Ford coupe driven by Leon Washington of Kansas City Kansas.
