Petition to Preserve Existing Space at Lawrence Outdoor Center
More than 1,400 residents sign a petition urging the Lawrence City Commission to modify the August approved renovation for the Lawrence Outdoor Aquatic Center. The plan adds a lazy river splash pad and shallow pool, shrinking total water recreation to 16,000 square feet and costing about 6.1 million dollars while preserving the deep dive pool, a 25-meter lap section, water slide and plunge pool. KU eyes $120 million expansion for architecture school
The University of Kansas plans a 50,000 square foot expansion of Marvin Hall to house enhanced architecture and design studio space and maker facilities. Douglas County Courthouse to undergo exterior masonry restoration
Douglas County Commissioners approved a 791367 contract to clean and restore all elevations of the courthouse exterior. The project aims to repaint portions of the west elevation and entire south, east, and north facades not included in 2010 work, with work starting late September or early October and finishing around March 2025.
