The body of Pvt. Omer P. Greene of Knoxville Tenn was found among shrubs in City Park near the business district. Authorities at Ft Riley planned an autopsy noting head and face marks from beating. Police Chief B M Wolf said robbery was a suspected motive but not proven as Greene's pockets were empty. The 23 year old left Ft Riley after a night training and was en route to his Junction City home where his wife Dolores Jean lived. The body was found by a passing auto mechanic three blocks from the home in a bushy corner of the park.
