Man Bound Over In Narcotics Case
John Tyler aged 23 of Route 2 Lawrence bound over to the November term of District Court on charges of possession and sale of narcotics. He is free on a 1500 bond after a July 20 arrest at his home by Lawrence Police and Douglas County deputies with two federal agents. Tyler allegedly sold marijuana to a Federal Bureau of Narcotics agent on November 22 last year while operating an art gallery at 706 Mass Street and was a KU student 1961 to 1964.

Barn Destroyed by Fire in Baldwin Area
A 32 by 36 foot barn near Baldwin, housing 1 500 bales of hay, burned early this morning. The fire, likely set by lightning, destroyed the structure and its contents with no damage estimate provided. Herman Butell owned the abandoned farm, George Butell alerted his brother, and the Baldwin Fire Department responded at 3 45 a m. A Douglas County Sheriff's patrol reported the blaze.
