Negro Youth Given Stiff Sentence In Birmingham Flareup
In Birmingham a 16 year old Negro convicted of tossing a soft drink bottle at a car received the maximum Recorder's Court sentence of six months in jail and a $100 fine. Frank Coach was among 76 Negro youths removed from a chartered bus after complaints of rocks and objects hurled at whites. Six others were turned over to juvenile authorities. The incident followed clashes since a Negro preacher, Rev. F. L. Shuttlesworth, sought to enroll four Negro pupils at an all white school and was beaten. Three white men charged with assault with intent to murder were released on bond after the Shuttlesworth beating. Names given: W. H. Cash, I. F. Gouldin, J. E. Breckinridge.

Money for Cowboy Museum Approved in Dodge City
Directors of the Cowboy Capital of the World Inc allocated 45000 for the first phase of a cowboy museum. Plans call a 200 foot long replica of Front Street with the Long Branch saloon and other frontier buildings. Restoration will be on U S 50 at Boot Hill near the existing Dodge City Historical Museum.
