The Lawrence Woman's Club holds its first meeting of the new club year at 2:30 PM Monday at the clubhouse. It is a guest day with tea after the program led by literature chair Mrs. W. A. Moore who will introduce Mrs. L. L. Kauffman for a book review.
The McAllaster PTA held a Let’s Get Acquainted meeting with about 60 parents meeting principal Bernice Brune and staff. Mrs. Jack T. Mills presided as president and Rev. Harald Hamilton gave the invocation. The budget for the coming year was approved at 575.95. Dorothy Dean’s first and second grade room won the attendance award for bringing the most parents. Officers for the new year include Mills as president Homer Nelson first vice president E C Hopkins second vice president W P Grantham secretary Eldon Johnson treasurer. Friday events include Contract Club and Fun Feat at Elan Wiles residence and SL venue. The WITY Club of Eudora hosts a potluck at Fred Walker’s home Saturday evening. Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 852 Auxiliary holds 8 p.m. meeting at Municipal Building Monday. Community Club potluck at 6 30 p.m. Tuesday No 6 School. American Legion Auxiliary Ewing Jones Post 112 called meeting Monday at Mrs Waiter Monroe Sr’s home.
The Lawrence Writers Workshop will meet at 2 o clock Saturday afternoon in the Directors room of the Lawrence Public Library. Anyone interested in writing is invited to attend.
