Rivers That Sink and Reappear In Florida’s Deep Banks
A Florida travel note describes the Wacissa and Aucilla as river systems that sink underground and reemerge, with stony shows of a Civil War memorial at the Natural Bridge site near Tallahassee. The St Marks river also sinks and rises nearby, and the piece recalls local battles and a 1922 Confederate memorial dedication.
