Flint Man Sentenced in Kayla Rolland Case
Jamelle James 20 received two to 15 years after pleading no contest to involuntary manslaughter in the death of Kayla Rolland. A 6-year-old boy, living in James’s home, found a .32 caliber pistol in a shoebox and brought it to school, where Kayla was shot. Prosecutors described the residence as a flophouse where guns and drugs circulated. The boy who fired the shot was not charged due to age.
