Iran to free female American hiker amid Ramadan clemency
Iran said it will free Sarah Shourd, one of three American hikers jailed over 13 months, as Ramadan closes. The move follows Tehran’s claim they illegally crossed from Iraq and amid U.S. tensions over Iran’s nuclear program. The release is planned Saturday at 9 am at the Estaghlal hotel, with two other hikers still detained.
