Weather Cancels KU Skylab Tests Over Midwest Rain
Clouds and rain forced the cancellation of two Kansas University Skylab experiments last weekend. A moisture test and a radar antenna test were called off as Skylab moved across the United States. Local bad weather near Garnett hindered the radar test team led by William Spencer. The EU crew set up five receivers in field conditions, but NASA canceled at 2 p.m. Saturday. The team towed vehicles from the mud to Lawrence with a tractor. Pending better weather, the tests may be tried again Wednesday and Thursday.
