Heat zaps Sun day arts and crafts festival
The 34th annual Sun day arts and crafts festival in South Park drew about 160 vendors despite searing heat. Lori Warren spun wool into yarn using ply ing at her booth while families joined activities run by the South Mass Arts Guild.

Attorney recovering at home after Douglas County ATV crash
Lawrence attorney John Solbach is recovering at home after a head on collision on April 18 in western Douglas County. He survived multiple fractures including a pelvis, hip, clavicle, arm and leg, and now walks with a cane while attending limited office hours and weekly physical therapy. The incident occurred near his Stull Road residence when his Kawasaki Mule ATV crossed into the eastbound lane.
