Lawrence Civic Choir Seeks New Members for Fall Season
Lawrence Civic Choir invites adults to join this fall with two registration dates at 7 p.m. on Mondays and September 19 at Lawrence First Baptist Church. New member fees total 65 dollars plus a 25 dollar music deposit, plus optional dress 75 dollars or tuxedo 100 dollars. Limited aid available. Rehearsals begin Mondays 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. for the December Holiday Concert.

Fall Arts and Crafts Festival set for Sunday at South Park
The Fall Arts and Crafts Festival runs 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at South Park, 1141 Massachusetts St. If rain comes, it will be postponed to Sept. 18. More than 150 vendors from across the region, including Oregon and California, will display art and crafts. Local bands perform from noon to 4 p.m. at the William Kelly Bandstand, with Dennis Rogers hosting a Native American music and dance show at 4 p.m. The event expects 6,000 to 8,000 visitors. Dorothy Hoyt-Reed, a first time vendor, will sell stained glass pieces and discuss Oz Art Glass classes.
