Park death shocks Lawrence homeless community
A 37 year old homeless woman, known as Conrad, was found dead in Clinton Park after weeks of violence and health problems linked to alcohol. Neighbors and aid workers described her as a motherly figure to local American Indians, with friends noting seizures and declining eyesight. Police and school officials responded as residents recalled past incidents and the park’s role as a nightly gathering spot.
