Texas floods reach San Antonio and Rio Grande towns

Rain from Texas storms floods northern and western regions and reaches as far as San Antonio with 43f inches. Concho river breaches banks, towns along its course repeatedly submerge. Floods also affect Fort Stockton and Davis while Eagle Pass reports the Rio Grande spreading through the lower town prompting preparations to move residents. The river stands higher than any prior record, raising fears for life and property along the lower river.

Invasion reports prompt state security measures in Kansas

Report from Fort Leavenworth and Topeka says Cheyennes and Arrapaho bands have left reservations but no Kansas citizens demand protection. Governor St John and adjutant general verify no invasion, with ample preparations along the western rail line and at Garden City to deter any advance.

Cholera Deaths Reported in Manila and Greece Frontier Talks

An official Manila dispatch reports 174 natives and one European died from cholera yesterday. A Barcelona box for Finance Minister Camacho contained four bottles of puro-glycerine. In Athens Greece the frontier issue remains undecided awaiting a Turkish Greek conference with the Arabic Pasha, with hostilities possible if no decision is reached.

Wheat corner injunc tion granted to thirteen operators

Judge Jameson grants a wheat corner injunction to thirteen operators caught on short sod in the July corner and blaming Armour and Keeshaw. An amicable settlement for outstanding contracts to be sought by all parties tomorrow. Also reports in base ball results from Cleveland Providence Detroit New York Buffalo and Worcostars.
