Nazi war criminal Heinz Barth released from prison on health grounds
The 84 year old former SS officer, convicted in 1983 for the 1944 Oradour massacre in France, was freed by the Brandenburg state Supreme Court on July 10 due to diabetes and other ailments. He had been serving a life sentence in Germany and is now living in a northern town.
