KU graduate dean exits for Canadian university post
Thomas Heilke, longtime dean of KU College of Graduate Studies, will leave Kansas University this winter to join the University of British Columbia Okanagan Campus as associate dean and inaugural director of the Residential Graduate College. Heilke, a Canadian native, notes family proximity and a near-perfect fit with his experience as key reasons for the move. He recalls two decades in Lawrence with fondness and plans a replacement search limited to current KU full professors. He previously led international programs and the Center for Global and International Studies, contributing to KU's Bold Initiatives strategy.
