Historic B 17 to visit Great Bend for air event
A restored World War II B 17 bomber named Senti mental Journey will stop over at Great Bend Municipal Airport for the September 17 to 19 air festival and fly in. From the Arizona Wing of the Commemorative Air Force, it is one of the few remaining B 17s still operating, with about 10 airworthy examples left of more than 12 000 built. The B 17 along with a C 45 and a C 47 will offer flights and tours during the event.
