Debra Gatlin Clair, 49, of Fort Worth, was convicted of manslaughter for her 15 year old daughter Tiffany's 2001 overdose death and received a 15 year prison sentence after a recent conviction. The case linked a family drug use to a fatal overdose at Clair's apartment earlier in the decade.
Neal Loeb files suit in Wisconsin alleging Smucker Co deceptively markets Simply 100 Percent Fruit spreads. The complaint says the strawberry product contains only 30 percent actual strawberries and priced higher than similar Smucker's items.
The IRS has not translated many basic tax forms and instructions into Spanish as the nation's Hispanic population grows. A Treasury inspector general survey shows only 28 percent of top forms and instructions identified by Spanish speaking taxpayer groups are translated. Treasury praised translators available by call and in tax centers.
