Columbus Foods resumes field ration canning at Lawrence plant
The Columbus Foods Corporation plant in Lawrence began canning army field rations on September 1 and will continue indefinitely. Manager Will Pendleton said the factory started packing field rations in January 1942 and has since worked on it except when used for seasonal vegetable canning.
