Harold Bloom, 30, of Detroit, was held for investigation in the torture and kidnapping of a Dearborn Township couple. George F. Barnes and Eva Barnes described a day of terror as Bloom forced Mrs. Barnes into a bedroom and tied her to a bed post. They were rescued at a Pontiac area gas station after Bloom wounded Barnes with a spear gun and drove them around Oakland County. Bloom claimed the gun went off accidentally and attempted self-harm as detectives took him into custody.

Six Nabbed In Wichita Narcotics Raids Night Of Action
Twenty officers conducted raids in Wichita ending in six arrests as the six week narcotics probe reached its climax. Individuals named include B W Mayse 50 a chiropractor held on three counts of illegal possession and sale of amphetamines.
