Telluride festival challenges Hollywood formula
Telluride's idiosyncratic festival debuts in Colorado with an anti Hollywood bias emphasizing eclecticism and art house depth. The lineup leans toward long, demanding works and foreign or indie titles, including The Descendants and Shame, while Scorsese's Living in the Material World and Herzog's Into the Abyss anchor a program that prizes variety over commercial might.
