Fire chief shot in Jericho court over traffic tickets
In Jericho Arkansas Fire Chief Don Payne was shot in a courtroom after an escalated dispute over traffic tickets. The shooting followed his return to court to contest a ticket, prompting the disbanding of the town police force and the voiding of all city tickets as sheriff deputies take over enforcement while city finances and records are reviewed.
