Kansas narrows options for passenger rail expansion
The Kansas Department of Transportation has narrowed passenger rail options to two: a nighttime service between Fort Worth Texas and Newton and a daytime link between Fort Worth and Kansas City Missouri. Detailed business plans are due by fall next year and funding actions would require state and possibly Texas approvals. KDHE reports vital statistics operations back to normal after a hardware crash. 6400 records backlogged and 50 staff reassigned to clear requests.
