Bus maker recalls brake systems for 6000 school buses

Freightliner Corp warns 6,000 Thomas Built Buses may have defective anti lock brake systems from March 1998 to last month. Up to 300,000 other vehicles mainly large trucks could be affected. ABS failure could briefly reduce braking at speeds under 20 mph. Bendix found the issue. No crashes linked. emergency brake remains functional. Inspections offered via Freightliner helpline.
