Search resumes for two missing flood victims in Kansas
Rescue teams pressed Monday to locate two missing people after a weekend flood on the Kansas Turnpike near Emporia. A couple’s four children aged 5, 3, 1, and 8 were found, strapped in car seats, Sunday, while another child, 8, remains missing along with Al Larsen of Fort Worth. Rogers expressed grief and faith as responders scoured a reservoir behind Jacob Creek dam using boats, dogs, and helicopters.

Drowned teen found after rain swollen creek sweep
An 18 year old Overland Park teen, George W. Robison, was swept away while wading Indian Creek in a rain swollen current Sunday. Bystanders rescued two friends but Robison could not be saved. Authorities reported active searches and cautioned about flood dangers.

Lawrence hero helps motorists on tornadic turnpike
Lawrence resident Ryan Lane earned praise for aiding multiple people during a flash flood on the turnpike. He helped a woman cross the median to safety, carried an elderly woman, and guided two 16 year olds and an elderly couple to safety as water swept cars away. He later learned seven vehicles were pulled off the road and a Rogers child was killed. Lane, a Kansas University graduate, spoke of the ordeal and said a sheriff's arrival helped calm the scene.
