Joseph L. Czarnecki who turned a Reading Pennsylvania workers tavern into a world mushroom restaurant died Saturday from prostate cancer. He took over Joe's tavern in 1947 and built a menu featuring wild mushrooms collected nearby.
Frank Williams, 54, a former director of a Parkinsons charity, was arrested Monday on charges he embezzled more than 870000 dollars from a Parkinsons patient who leads the Minnesota chapter of the American Parkinsons Disease Association. A five-doctor panel, first of its kind, endorsed Dr Jack Kevorkians campaign for doctor assisted death by own action.
A SUNY Albany study finds women face equal or greater risks of workplace violence than men, with homicide as the leading cause of death for women on the job. Health care, education, and social services workers are among the most at risk, with about 260,000 women affected annually.
