KU play probes fame and violence in Popcorn staging
Ben Elton's Popcorn at KU's Crafton-Preyer Theatre, directed by Ron Willis, pits a mass murder plot against Hollywood vanity. Bruce the director, Karl the producer, Farrah his wife, Velvet the daughter, and TV crew collide with Wayne and Scout, two killers, raising questions of responsibility. Strong performances by Brooke and Scout lift the tense satire.
