Trae Young chose KU over OU in tense recruitment
Oklahoma guard Trae Young recalled the tough call to Kansas coach Bill Self, saying it was uncomfortable yet respected. He described visits to Lawrence and Norman, the two schools’ pull, and his aim to lead Kansas to end the Big 12 streak while facing a likely hostile Allen Field House welcome.

Reed sparks K State with 99 yard return and kickoff switch
Ryen Reed ignited Kansas State with a 99 yard kickoff return and a 68 yard punt return and 53 yard kickoff return, breaking a three game stretch without touches. Byron Pringle assisted with a side switch on the opening kickoff to create space for Reed. Reed’s two other returns and the Wildcats’ strong special teams propelled a 7 3 lead and eventual win as Kansas State dominated field position. Kansas State coach Bill Snyder praised special teams as a longtime priority and noted his son Sean’s role in its coordination. Kansas’ miscues, including a bad punt snap and a 6 yard start after a fair catch, underscored the day’s miscues. Kansas dropped to 1 7 on the season 2 5 against the spread with Baylor up next.
