Troops turn to liposuction to pass fat test
U S soldiers seek liposuction to meet the Pentagon body fat standard based on neck and waist measurements. Surgeons say service members panic over possible demotion or discharge as fitness rules tighten. Critics argue the tape test favors bulky physiques and outdated norms while defense officials defend readiness. Medical coverage is limited to necessity, with costs exceeding six thousand dollars per procedure.
