Brazil unveils plan to battle its crisis
Brazil announced a wide tax and spending plan to cut the budget deficit and stabilize the economy. IMF welcomed the measures as progress though Congress faces a tough vote on social security tax hikes and other changes. Finance Minister Malan urged national resolve as markets paused for the staged rollout and Sao Paulo stock exchange delayed its opening.
