A great storm off the Labrador coast on the 11th wrecked or drove ashore eighty fishing vessels and cost at least seventy crewmen their lives. Two thousand castaways remain ashore in destitution as Boston and Halifax report partial losses with hopes for more details and relief efforts.
Judge Ins B Swing wrote March 24 to Clermont County Courier about statements on political and personal relations between President Andrew Johnson and General Ulysses S Grant.
