Library leader retires amid expansion, health notes
Library director Robert Flanders announced his retirement with no comments from him and did not return calls seeking comment. The board cited his medical leave and said his departure was his own, while acknowledging rapid design decisions on the $18 million expansion. Flan ders valued the project but said he would miss the library and seek new challenges. He noted recent medical treatments but said a doctor has cleared him to return to work.
