Indicted Kansas City Man Accused in Lawrence Bank Robbery
Davonte Chaney, 29, faces one count of bank robbery and one count of use of a firearm in a crime of violence in federal court. Prosecutors say he used a semi auto pistol to rob Trusty Credit Union at 2221 West 31st Street in Lawrence on September 21. Police spotted officers outside the southern Lawrence bank about 10 a.m. A bank spokeswoman confirmed a robbery occurred around 9:30 a.m. An undetermined amount of cash was taken from a customer service employee.
