Two-car crash injures Kansas University student
A 20 year old Kansas University junior from Park Ridge Illinois, William A. Anderson, sustained minor injuries in a two car crash at 22nd and Nai smith Drive. Anderson was treated at Watkins Memorial Hospital and released. The police car driven by Sgt. Eugene Williams collided with Andersons car. Williams said he pulled into the intersection without seeing the other vehicle. Williams reported Anderson was within speed limits. Damages were listed as 500 dollars to the police car and 200 dollars to Andersons car. A parked Kansas Highway Patrol car was later struck by John M. Deer at 1116 La Street. Deer 22, of 73014 Mass Street, caused 550 dollars damage to the patrol car and 325 to Deers car. Patrol Capt. E. P. Moomau, in charge of the Kansas University Patrol school, formerly lived in Lawrence and previously headed the first Patrol division.
