Man arrested for animal cruelty at Lawrence hospital
A 23-year-old Lawrence man was arrested early Wednesday at Lawrence Memorial Hospital on an animal cruelty charge after an anonymous caller reported a dog in distress. Animal control found the dog tied with a plastic flex cuff around its back legs and lacking food or water. The man was treated for a dog bite and booked in Douglas County Jail on a $750 bond.
