Lions edge Firebirds in ground-dominated showdown

Lawrence High rode a run-heavy attack to a 21-6 victory over Free State High, with Parker pacing the Lions by rushing and a key Coleman TD on the ground. Free State struggled to mount a consistent offense despite a late air push and a Harvey headed drive. The win puts Lawrence clinging to playoff momentum while Free State eyes a must-win next Friday.

Free State offense stalls against Lawrence High in tough road loss

Free State managed only 156 yards after halftime and failed to sustain drives as Lawrence High frustrated the Firebirds with penalties and missed opportunities. Dillingham led with 63 receiving yards on seven catches while Caleb Harvey finished with a late one-yard TD run. A late interception by Nolan Kellerman sealed the 10–7 setback, leaving Free State at 4-4 with a still plausible playoff path.

Lawrence High Dominates Free State in Grounded Shutout

Lawrence High control and a 65 yard one play drive set the tone as Jeff Colter and Taylor Parker anchored a long clock chewing ground game. Free State fights back with a late snuck score but falls behind 21 to 6 entering the final stretch.

Hayden edges Baldwin in windy finish for 19 16 victory

Hayden (7-1) survived a late Baldwin drive when Emery Baughan’s 28 yard field goal drifted wide left with 5.5 seconds left. Senior Steve Schuster starred with a 56 yard touchdown run and 14 yard TD pass to Danny Faught as Hayden pulled away late after Baldwin led 16-7. Baldwin, plagued by penalties, had no mid field threats after three quarters, and a goalwards attempt at victory failed in the wind.
