Colorado backup Adam Bledsoe, pressed into action after Moschetti’s concussion, goes 3 for 9 for 21 yards in a 33-17 loss to Kansas. Neuheisel notes the tough spot, while Jayhawks’ Winbush runs for 276 yards and KU builds a 20-14 lead en route to the win. Colorado (6-2, 3-2) heads to Missouri after a bye.
Referee Tom Ahlers led a seven-man Big 12 crew as Kansas upset Colorado 37 34 at home. Kansas built on strong defense with 12 tackles by Steve Bratten and a late fourth quarter fumble return by Tim Bowers for a 48 yard TD. Colorado, hampered by two fumbles and two interceptions, edged toward the red zone but failed with a 37 yard field goal and late turnovers.
Kansas edged Colorado 33 to 17 after taking a 7 0 lead, with Winbush slicing in two rushing TDs and Moschetti and Alexander directing key drives. Colorado countered with multiple sustained marches but could not overcome KU's second half surge led by Winbush and Garcia.

Kansas star David Winbush rushed for 268 yards on 29 carries while Termaine Fulton led receiving with 44 yards. Colorado’s offense totaled 373 yards as Mike Maschetti threw for 200 yards and two interceptions. Attendance was about 31,600 with officials listed as Ahlers, Jankowski, Wilson and others.
Kansas State standout David Winbush rushed a career high 268 yards and three touchdowns aiding a 33-17 win over No. 17 Colorado. Offensive line play and a reshuffled lineup, including Jay Alexander stepping in for Zac Wegner, fueled the Jayhawks as QB injury adversity sparked a collective surge.
