City Manager says city finances solid and on track
City Manager Mike Wildgen told Friday that the city’s finances are solid as he prepares Tuesday night to present a report to commissioners. Early figures show sales tax up 3.4 percent from a year ago, property taxes up $580,000, and concessions down $80,000. Expenditures were down but minor concerns persist in parks and public parking. spending should slow in the next quarter. The report covers general, recreation, library and funded funds, plus water, sewer, sanitation, drainage and maintenance funds, which together account for over 85 percent of the budget. The city is operating on a $74.1 million budget with $84 million in cash and investments as of Sept. 30.
