Anger Over Parking Lot Drive Sparks Midnight Fight
Police in Lawrence investigated a fight at No. 1 Riverfront Plaza late Saturday involving a 29 year old Lecompton man driving a 1997 Chevrolet Cavalier. He argued with an SUV driver who backed into a space and was struck by the SUV’s driver and two passengers. Damage to the Cavalier was reported at $3,000. No arrests were reported.

Armed suspect attempts robbery at Laundromat
A man armed with a pistol and wearing a stocking mask tried to rob a 21-year-old woman at Commerce Plaza Laundromat in Lawrence at about 5 am. He entered the bathroom then returned with the mask and a black pistol, demanded money, but left empty handed. Police describe the suspect as a white male, six feet tall, about 160 pounds.
