A captured Japanese two man submarine will be in Lawrence Monday afternoon from 2:30 to 6 o clock in front of the WREN building on West Eighth street. Admission is by buying war stamps or bonds with school children paying 25 cents and adults 1 dollar. The booths are run by the War Finance Committee's Woman's Division led by Mrs. Henry Werner with cooperation from the Retailers Finance Committee headed by John Schrader.

Theft ring solved as two Rothfuss brothers jailed
Sheriff reports the Rothfuss brothers Merton 18 and Eldred 28 from Saline County Kansas confessed to a string of farm thefts across Douglas Shawnee and Franklin counties.
