Police report a Wednesday morning theft at the Delta Chi Fraternity 1245 West Campus Road. Cash, four watches, a class ring, a cigarette lighter and other valuables were taken from second floor drawers while no one slept on that floor. About $70 in cash was stolen.

Two KU Men Charged With Theft of Chairs
Kansas University students Douglas Mellor and John Paxton Scott Jr were arrested and charged with grand larceny for stealing four swivel chairs from Blake Hall valued at $71.50 each. Chairs allegedly taken on two occasions before the school year began. Mellor posted $1,000 bail. Scott remained in jail awaiting a Nov. 6 preliminary hearing.

William H. McCamish 96 former Wyandotte County district judge and author of legal forms died at Bethany Hospital.
