Everything falls into place for festival
High School band in the Maple Leaf Festival Parade moved west on Baldwin City’s High Street as Brenda Hunt and two friends shopped early. Hunt and Sue Howard carried purchases while Daisy Parker rode with bags. They travel every year for a girls' day out, planning to unload at the car. Vendors noted a trend of early shoppers and crowding near the food booths as the parade turned north on Sixth Street toward High. Maple Leaf obligations included Turkey legs for a husband, with lines forming well before noon.
