LMH plan losses mount as health plan dissolves
Lawrence Memorial Hospital's managed care plan will end this month while remaining members file more claims, pushing expenses to about 600000. The hospital canceled Community Health Plans of Kansas and shifted to Blue Cross Premier Blue. LMH had forecast 14 million in losses to Oct 31 and says actuals exceed revenues by 2 million with numbers still fluctuating as reviews audit large cases.

Lawrence man dies after altercation under review for charges
Douglas County prosecutors weigh involuntary manslaughter and domestic battery charges against a 49 year old woman connected to the Friday death of 77 year old Frederick Lynn Johnson.
