Worked 1919 1930 as secretary in Kansas University Graduate School office. Married July 1930 to Vany Miller who died 1952. Survived by two sisters Miss Alice M Zwick Mrs Lydia Z Campbell three brothers and several nieces and nephews. Burial in Oak Hill Cemetery. She was a member of First Baptist Kaw Valley Home Demonstration Unit Quivera Club and charter member of the Business and Professional Women's Club.

The commission and KPS officials discuss gas rate increases that could have gone to district court. Under the new rates the average Lawrence customer will pay about 84 cents more monthly, or $9.98 yearly, with 7,800 KPS customers using roughly 180 000 cubic feet yearly. The average monthly bill rises from 7.83 to 8.867, adding about $104.04 yearly. KPS will collect roughly $6,550 more monthly and $78,600 more yearly, passed to Cities Service for higher bulk rates. Cities Service will raise bulk rates in November affecting nearby towns served by Gas Service. Additional actions include zoning approval, appraisers' reports for sanitary sewers and street improvements, plans for a Municipal Parking Lot at 10th and N Streets, and preliminary action to ban parking on Engel Road west side from University to Fifteenth.

Damage Found on Nautilus During Overhaul at Portsmouth
A submarine Nautilus damage, described as apparently intentional, is under study at the Portsmouth naval shipyard where the atomic powered vessel is being overhauled. Truck Demolished But Driver OK After Ditch Escape
A truck driven by Harold Jay Bunce escaped severe injury when it swerved into a roadside ditch to avoid a car that appeared to stop then pulled back.
